When Better Letters Met Brian Walker

A new short film celebrating Hackney signwriter Brian Walker's life on the brush.

Portrait of a man posing in front of a sign he is painting on a window. He is holidng his sign painting materials in his hands.
Hackney signwriter Brian Walker, now retired, is the subject for Better Letters' next short film.

Last summer during my trip to London, I took filmmaker Irene Chirita with me to meet with retired Hackney signwriter Brian Walker. Sadly, Brian passed away in June, before we had finished our short film celebrating his life on the brush.

We are now in the final edit, and looking forward to sharing the film with friends, family, and the wider signwriting community at the official premiere inside Brian's beloved community arts venue, Chats Palace.

We hope you can join us.

Thank you to Chats Palace and the Hackney Society for kindly providing the venue and essential equipment for this event, and to all those that helped to fund the film via Kickstarter.

This is the fourth in the 'When Better Letters Met' series, and there will be an online premiere at a later date, which I'll share via the free BLAG mailing list.
