When Better Letters Met Brian Walker
A new short film celebrating Hackney signwriter Brian Walker's life on the brush.
Last summer during my trip to London, I took filmmaker Irene Chirita with me to meet with retired Hackney signwriter Brian Walker. Sadly, Brian passed away in June, before we had finished our short film celebrating his life on the brush.
We are now in the final edit, and looking forward to sharing the film with friends, family, and the wider signwriting community at the official premiere inside Brian's beloved community arts venue, Chats Palace.

Essential Premiere Information
- Date: Tuesday, 29 July 2025.
- Time: 6:30pm for a prompt 7pm start. Ends 8pm.
- Location: Chats Palace, 42-44 Brooksby's Walk, London, E9 6DF.
- Tickets: Free, with a suggested donation to Chats Palace.
- Catering: A bar serving beer, wine, spirits, and soft drinks will be available.
