Versus previous issues, the bonus content for BLAG 07 is spread across a series of posts, starting with this deep dive into the books and other published material connected to the magazine's contents.

Read on to learn more about the artists and designers that inspired Keith Knecht, some of the early press coverage for the Letterheads movement, digital downloads for all but one of the vintage sign painting volumes in this issue's 'Book Club', and much more...

Ye Olde Sign Shoppe

Jerry Albright, 'Father of the Letterheads', was this issue's 'Ye Olde Sign Shoppe'. The piece was adapted from Mark Oatis' 2002 profile in Sign Business magazine, which can be downloaded here as a PDF.

On the Brush

For his Norwegian translation of IOAFS, Kristian O. Gundersen took inspiration from 32 Alphabets Modernes (32 Modern Alphabets) by French sign painter Rumond. You can check these out in the lower half of this page on Luc Devroye's excellent website.
